Training shaped around your nursery
A focused workshop gives your team space to reflect on practice, ask questions and agree what to try next. Aqsa works with nursery and early years teams to connect training with the situations staff encounter during the day.
The standard format is 90 minutes online for up to 20 staff. Three-hour workshops and five-hour training days can also be discussed. Preparation for one agreed topic, practical resources and questions are included.
Choose one practical topic
- Behaviour and big feelings: warm responses, clear boundaries and a consistent team approach.
- Settling and transitions: key-person relationships, handovers and working with families.
- SEN / SEND and inclusion: reflecting on communication, participation and everyday adjustments.
- Learning through play: noticing learning in relationships and familiar routines.
- Parent partnerships: listening, sharing observations and constructive conversations.
We agree the focus before booking. This is tailored professional development; no accredited qualification is advertised.
Example: behaviour and big feelings
A possible 90-minute session for a nursery team:
- First 15 minutes: identify a recurring challenge and agree the questions the team wants to explore.
- Next 20 minutes: discuss what happens around the child, including communication, routines and adult responses.
- Next 25 minutes: work through an illustrative scenario and practise consistent language.
- Next 20 minutes: turn the discussion into a short team action sheet.
- Final 10 minutes: questions and an agreed review point.
By the end, staff should be able to describe the situation more clearly, choose an appropriate response and identify how they will review it. These are session objectives, not guaranteed outcomes for a child.
Take the learning into practice
The workshop includes a team action sheet and resources for the agreed topic. A useful action sheet records:
- The routine or situation the team wants to improve.
- What staff will say and do consistently.
- What each child may need adapted.
- Who will share the approach with families.
- When the team will review what helped.
